Who knows a sure-fire method to sleep? I’m struggling!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz the last two days I have been going to bed and then still being awake come stupid-o’clock in the morning!  I’d almost have been as good staying up all night. 😦

Tonight, I actually feel tired while writing, so it will be short and sweet.

Running has been going super, 21min for my 3miles both yesterday and today, feeling really easy, and moving well.  I’m even breaking strava records on my route, so thinking it’s time to start expanding my net of where I run, so I can be the Strava king of running around my area.  Everyone needs a goal right??

Yesterday a few of us viewed a great venue for our graduation ball, a few viewed one today, I’m at another tomorrow, and there are two others in the running as well.  It’s exciting doing the background work for our final ever University shindig!!

I’ve had a new clinical and sports biomechanics class started too, and they have already given us a 5000 word essay on measuring devices for research studies into biomechanics……that’s a lot of words for not a lot of credits!  plus there will be another 5000word essay due for week 8. 😦

Today was also velodrome day, and we were doing some training on team pursuit, therefore it was all about staying together as a team of 4, and switching at the bends.  It’s great fun, and a couple of the guys in our group weren’t as strong, so was well within my limits which was nice. 🙂

Anyway, my bed is calling, and a big day ahead tomorrow, so I will see you all soon!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

About athleteagogo

I'm just me...serial moaner, and someone who can have serious insecurity issues in life, and also in my athletic career. Looking to regain fitness, and maybe have one more crack at running some fast times over distances from 5km up to marathons....maybe longer.

  1. Larissa ⋅

I don’t know what it’s called, but I learned a relaxing technique in a yoga class that I really like when I can’t fall asleep. You lay comfortably on your back, then working from your toes up, tense the area as hard as you can, then completely relax it. Toes, feet, calves, upper legs, bum…. etc. By the time I get to my face – which always feels AMAZING because we honestly don’t relax our face muscles very well – I’m always feeling relaxed and drowsy.

Hope you start to feel better!

    • Thanks Larissa, might have to try that one out. Must admit, I’m not one for lying on my back…..there’s something that just feels unnatural about it with me, but sure I can try this, then roll over and dose off if it works. 🙂

  2. If I actually do it, it works every time for me:

    Meditate.

I listen to a 15 min breathing meditation. I usually pass out around 12 min.

    • Interesting. I have tried a meditation-style thing before….Derren Brown I believe it was. I can’t remember if that worked or not……maybe that’s a good sign, and I should try this again. Will be sure to let you know how I get on with this, and Larissa’s method too. 🙂
